Eric Coble’s two-character play officially opens its pre-Broadway run in Washington, D.C.
On Wednesday, September 18, Academy Award winner Estelle Parsons (
Nice Work If You Can Get It) and two-time Tony winner Stephen Spinella (
Angels in America: Perestroika) celebrated the opening of their pre-Broadway run of
The Velocity of Autumn at Washington, D.C.’s
Arena Stage.
The pair stars in Scottish playwright Eric Coble’s two-character play, which is scheduled to run at the Washington theater through October 20 before it moves to Broadway in spring 2014.
The play takes place in a Brooklyn brownstone where 79-year-old Alexandra (Parsons) cohabits with a large collection of explosives. Her long-absent son (Spinella) comes onto the scene to try to save his mother from harm. Artistic Director Molly Smith directs.
Take a look at Parsons, Spinella, and the rest of the pre-Broadway creative team on opening night!
