First Look at Signature Theatre's World Premiere of Light Years

Signature Theatre's world-premiere production of Light Years, a new musical featuring music, lyrics, and book by Robbie Schaefer, has released its first set of images. Signature Theatre artistic director Eric Schaeffer helms the production, running through March 4 in the MAX Theatre.

Light Years follows Robbie, who journeys from his childhood home in India to the joys and struggles of growing up, pursuing his passion, and raising a family. Entwined throughout is his cherished relationship with his father — and his father's haunted past.

The cast features Robbie Schaefer (guitarist of the band Eddie From Ohio) as Robbie, Bobby Smith (Signature's Crazy for You) as Konnie, Natascia Diaz (Crazy for You) as Chantelle/Annie, Luke Smith (Broadway's Significant Other) as Middle Robbie, John Sygar (1st Stage's Floyd Collins) as Young Robbie, and Kara-Tameika Watkins (Signature's Jesus Christ Superstar) as Soma/Amelia.

The creative team includes musical direction by David Holcenberg, choreography by Kelly Crandall d'Amboise, scenic design by Eric Schaeffer, lighting design by Chris Lee, costume design by Kathleen Geldard, sound design by Ryan Hickey, video design by Mark Costello, production stage manager Kerry Epstein, assistant stage manager Bekah Wachenfeld, and production assistant Joey Blakely.
