Following its upcoming presentation of Chess, the Kennedy Center's Broadway Center Stage series will present a new production of Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegría Hudes's In the Heights, directed and choreographed by Stephanie Klemons. The production runs March 21-25 for seven performances only.
The company will be headed by Joshua Grosso as Usnavi, Vanessa Hudgens as Vanessa, Ana Villafañe as Nina, Mateo Ferro as Sonny, Eden Espinosa as Daniela, J. Quinton Johnson as Benny, Saundra Santiago as Abuela Claudia, Virgil Gadson as Graffiti Pete, and Arianna Rosario as Carla. Original Broadway cast member Blanca Camacho will play Camila, with fellow Broadway cast members Rick Negron and Eliseo Roman returning to the roles of Kevin and Piragua Guy.
The In the Heights ensemble includes David Baida, Nico DeJesus, John Edwards, Hope Easterbrook, Rosie Fiedelman, Henry Gainza, Carlos Gonzalez, Morgan Marcell, April Ortiz, Khori Petinaud, and Voltaire Wade-Greene.
Klemons, an original Broadway cast member of In the Heights, also served as the associate choreographer of Hamilton and Bring It On, as well as the recent Super Bowl ad featuring Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr.
