According to the first Tweet from the new verrified Twitter account @MeanGirlsDC, Tina Fey's long-rumored musical adaptation of her 2004 film Mean Girls will come to the stage next year.
"The "Mean Girls" musical is coming to Washington, D.C. Fall of 2017!" reads the post.

No further information, including the theater where the musical will premiere, has been announced so far.
With a screenplay by Emmy Award winner Tina Fey and direction by Mark Waters, the Mean Girls movie follows Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) as she navigates her friendship with a clique of popular girls who call themselves the Plastics.
