Thanks to Pokémon Go, we remember the days of ”Pokémon Live!”
It took a while, but the world has finally found an obsession that (at least momentarily) trumps Hamilton-mania. That's right — this week, every '90s child with an iPhone can be seen trolling the streets for those adorable little creatures we used collect on trading cards and subsequently get confiscated by our elementary school teachers.
Pokémon Go has officially swept the nation, and we're partying like it's 1995.
To honor this wave of nostalgia, we're flashing back to the days circa Y2K when Pokémon Live!, the brand's musical stage show, featured all of our favorite anime characters singing and dancing for their original generation of fans. And it had a Broadway-caliber cast to match the decked-out production numbers. Check out this early commercial for the stage show, and spot Tony nominee Andrew Rannells (pre-The Book of Mormon) as evil Team Rocket operative James.
