The Drama League has announced the 2018 Drama League Awards Nominees for Outstanding Production
of a Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding Revival of a
Musical, and the Distinguished Performance Award. The nominations were announced this morning by Harriet Harris, Julie White, and Christopher Sieber at the official announcement event at Sardi's Restaurant.
The 84th Annual Drama League Awards will be held at the Marriott Marquis Times Square on Friday, May 18, at 11:30am. As previously announced, the 2018 Special Recognition Award Recipients are as follows: Tony Award winner Idina Menzel will receive the Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theater Award; director Casey Nicholaw, currently represented on Broadway with Mean Girls, Aladdin, and The Book of Mormon, will receive the Founders Award for Excellence in Directing; and the National Endowment for the Arts (represented by Chairman Jane Chu) will receive the Unique Contribution to the Theater Award.
