Let the Right One In begins performances tonight at Alley Theatre.

The play is adapted by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) following the international success of the original Swedish novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist and subsequent film. Tony Award-winning director John Tiffany (Once) directs.

This supernatural thriller is a brutal and tender vampire myth told through the turbulence of a coming-of-age romance. Oskar, a lonely boy from a broken home, is bullied at school and longing for friendship. Eli, the young girl who moves in next door, doesn’t attend school and rarely leaves home. When a series of mysterious killings plagues the neighborhood, these two young misfits, sensing in each other a kindred spirit, forge a deep connection. But the shocking truth about one of them tests their young friendship — and love — beyond all imaginable limits.

The cast includes Graeme Dalling (Much Ado About Nothing), Andrew Fraser (King John), Jo Freer (The House of Bernarda Alba), Stephen McCole (Black Watch), Lucy Mangan (Moonface), David Mara (The James Plays), Angus Miller (Citizens), Cristian Ortega (The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe), and Ewan Stewart (Beautiful Burnout).

Working alongside the cast is the creative team of Steven Hoggett (movement director), Olafur Arnalds (music), Tony award winner Christine Jones (set and costume design), Chahine Yavroyan (lighting design), Gareth Fry (sound design), and Jeremy Chernick (special effects design).

Performances continue through March 19.
