Caroline, or Change Announces Open Casting Call for Boys

The Broadway production of the Tony Kushner-Jeanine Tesori musical, Caroline, or Change has announced an open casting call for boys.

African-American and white singers ages 9-12 are encouraged to audition for the show at The Public Theater (425 Lafayette Street) on Saturday July 24, from 11am to 2pm. Each auditionee should be prepared to sing one short song to show off his voice. For more information, call 212-539-8550 or e-mail casting@publictheater.org.

Caroline, or Change is directed by George C. Wolfe. Set in Louisiana in 1963, the musical tells the story of the relationship between young Noah Gellman (Harrison Chad) and Caroline (Tonya Pinkins), the black woman who works as a maid for his family. The show was nominated for six 2004 Tony Awards and Anika Noni Rose won for her performance as Caroline’s daughter, Emmie.
