Five Musical Show Albums Nominated for Grammy Awards

Among the nominees for the 46th Annual Grammy Awards, announced today, are five recordings in the Best Musical Show Album category. They are:

Gypsy — Broadway revival cast album, Angel Records
Nine — Broadway revival cast album, PS Classics
Flower Drum Song — Broadway revival cast album, DRG Records
Man of La Mancha — Broadway revival cast album, RCA Victor
Movin’ Out — original Broadway cast album, Sony Classical

In addition to these, Tony Award-winner Heather Headley (Aida) received nominations in the Best New Artist and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance categories for her album This Is Who I Am (RCA) and Eric Idle, one of the creators of Seussical and of the upcoming Broadway musical Spamalot, received a nomination for Best Spoken Word Album for Children for his recording of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl.
