The Woman in White to Open on Broadway in Spring 2006

| New York City |

February 9, 2005

It has just been announced that Andrew Lloyd Webber’s latest musical, The Woman in White, which opened in London in September, will reach Broadway in the spring of 2006 rather than in November 2005 as originally planned.

Prior to the Broadway run at a Nederlander theater yet to be named, the show — based on Wilkie Collins’ Victorian thriller of the same title — will have a tryout engagement at Chicago’s LaSalle Bank Theatre from November 15, 2005 to January 8, 2006. No casting for the production has yet been announced.

In addition to composer Lloyd Webber, the creative team of The Woman in White includes lyricist David Zippel, book writer Charlotte Jones, and director Trevor Nunn. The members of the London design team — William Dudley (production and video design), Paul Pyant (lighting), and Mick Potter (sound) — will recreate their work for the Broadway mounting.
