Tony Award nominee Tresa Hughes has died, according to a death notice in The New York Times. She was 81.
Hughes received her Tony nomination for her performance in Dore Schary’s The Devil’s Advocate. Among her many other Broadway credits are The Advocate, The Man in the Glass Booth, Beggar on Horseback, Prisoner of Second Avenue, Golda, Tribute, The American Clock, Lolita, The Floating Glass Bulb and Café Crown.
The actress was also seen frequently on television in such shows as Ed, Law & Order, Wonderland, NYPD Blue, among others. Her film credits include Fame, Bad Medicine, Don Juan DeMarco, and A Fish in the Bathtub.
She is survived by a daughter and grandson.
