Tony Award winner Hugh Jackman raised a record $1,789,580 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS during the 10-week run of his show,Hugh Jackman: Back on Broadway, according to reports.
Jackman donated signed pieces of clothing and offers to meet his fans, along with other memorabilia, at his performances.
The show, which concluded its limited run on January 1 at the Broadhurst Theatre, grossed over $14.6 million, and set numerous box office records for the theater, including a final weekly gross of $2,057,354.
Jackman won the Tony for The Boy From Oz. His other stage credits include A Steady Rain, Oklahoma, and Sunset Boulevard. He will play Jean Valjean in the upcoming film version of Les Miserables.
