New York City
All-new Broadway musical ”Something Rotten!” leads the pack.
Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators for media covering New York theater, announced today its award winners for the 2014-15 season in 24 categories. Broadway stars Raúl Esparza and Katie Finneran presided over the announcement ceremony at Manhattan’s Friars Club.
The winners will be announced on Monday, May 11. The annual Gala Awards Dinner and presentation of awards to the winners will be held on May 21 at Sardi's restaurant.
Something Rotten!, a new musical comedy by Wayne Kirkpatrick, Karey Kirkpatrick, and John O'Farrell, led the nominations tally with 12 nods. Coming in second, with 9 nominations, is the Broadway revival of Comden and Green's On the Twentieth Century, starring Kristin Chenoweth — who is also one of five performers nominated for outstanding actress in a musical.
