Eric Ulloa’s play deals with the horrific school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.
26 Pebbles, a new play by Eric Ulloa about the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, will be read on December 15 at the Lynn Redgrave Theater. The event will serve as a memorial on the second anniversary of the tragedy.
R. Erin Craig, La Vie Productions, James E. Cleveland, Randy Donaldson, and Wolfstone Productions present the benefit evening, the proceeds of which will go to charities chosen by the citizens of Newtown.
In the months following the tragedy, playwright Ulloa conducted interviews with Newtown residents, including shop owners, parents of students, religious leaders, spiritualists, town workers, and others who were touched by the tragedy. Those transcripts were then adapted into a play that asks how a community can endure the ultimate tragedy, and what happens after the media leaves.
The charities that will benefit from this special evening include Avielle Foundation, Classes4Classes, UConn Sandy Hook Memorial Scholarship Fund , and My Sandy Hook Family Fund.
Igor Goldin directs the reading. Casting and other information will be announced in the coming weeks.
