The special honorees for this year’s event have also been announced.
Details were announced today for the 34th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. The Awards will be handed out on Sunday, May 5, at the NYU Skirball Center for Performing Arts, beginning at 7pm EST. The Lucille Lortel Awards are produced by the Off-Broadway League by special arrangement with the Lucille Lortel Theatre Foundation, with additional support provided by TDF.
This year's special honorees include the casting office Telsey Company, receiving the Outstanding Body of Work Award; playwright María Irene Fornés (Pulitzer Prize finalist for What of the Night?), receiving the Playwrights' Sidewalk honor; and Terry Byrne (general manager of the Westside Theatre for 28 years), receiving the Edith Oliver Service to Off-Broadway Award.
The 2019 Lucille Lortel Award nominations will be announced on April 3, ahead of the May 5 ceremony. Members of the general public may purchase tickets to the awards presentation beginning April 3.
