The 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were presented on Sunday, September
23 in Los Angeles and aired live on ABC. Jimmy Kimmel hosted the ceremony.
Shows that were honored in various categories included The Amazing Race, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Homeland, and Modern Family.
Theater veterans who took home Emmy Awards included Kathy Bates (Two and Half Men), Jon Cryer (Two and Half Men), Claire Danes (Homeland), Jessica Lange (American Horror Story), Damian Lewis (Homeland), Julianne Moore (Game Change), Martha Plimpton (The Good Wife), and Maggie Smith (Downton Abbey).
The evening’s winners also included Tom Berenger, Tom Bergeron, Julie Bowen, Louis C.K., Kevin Costner, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Aaron Paul, and Eric Stonestreet.
Glenn Weiss won for directing The 65th Annual Tony Awards, which also took home three awards at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on September 15.
