9 Stars of The Sopranos Whom You May Have Seen Onstage

Celebrate the 20th anniversary of the historic crime drama by looking back at James Gandolfini, Edie Falco, and more in their many stage appearances.

Today marks the 20th anniversary of The Sopranos, David Chase's celebrated HBO crime drama that ran through 2007. In honor of the landmark event, we're looking back at the cast of the show in their stage roles. How many of these productions did you see?

1. James Gandolfini — Tony Soprano

Gandolfini's three Broadway appearances included A Streetcar Named Desire, On the Waterfront, and God of Carnage, pictured above, opposite Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, and Marcia Gay Harden.

2. Edie Falco — Carmela Soprano

No stranger to the stage, Falco made her Broadway debut in Sideman. She has also been seen in Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, 'night, Mother, The House of Blue Leaves, for which she received a Tony nomination, and, pictured above, off-Broadway in The True, opposite Michael McKean.

3. Lorraine Bracco — Dr. Melfi

Lorraine Bracco made her Broadway debut as Mrs. Robinson in The Graduate in 2002. She also toured with the comedy in 2004.

4. Aida Turturro — Janice Soprano, and Vincent Pastore — Salvatore "Big P*ssy" Bonpensiero

Turturro made her Broadway debut alongside costar Gandolfini in A Streetcar Named Desire. Later, she joined Sopranos costar Pastore in Chicago, as Mama Morton to his Amos Hart. Pastore would go on to be seen as Nick Valenti in Bullets Over Broadway.

5. Dominic Chianese — Corrado "Junior" Soprano

Chianese's tons of stage credits date back to 1965. Here he is in the the 2004 off-Broadway play A Second Hand Memory, costarring Michael McKean.

6. Jamie-Lynn Sigler — Meadow Soprano, and Joe Pantoliano — Ralph Cifaretto

Sigler is a former Belle in Disney's Beauty and the Beast on Broadway and a former Cinderella on a national tour of the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical in 2001. Above, she is seen backstage on Broadway in 2002 with Sopranos costar Pantoliano, who made his Broadway debut in 2003 in Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune.

7. Steve Schirripa — Bobby Baccalieri

Schirripa made his first New York stage appearance as Big Julie opposite Nathan Lane, Megan Mullally, Sierra Boggess, and Patrick Wilson in the 2014 Carnegie Hall concert production of Guys and Dolls.

8. Jerry Adler — Herman "Hesh" Rabkin

Veteran television character actor Adler has done more than 50 Broadway shows over the course of his career. Among his many productions are the original My Fair Lady, where he served as stage manager, and 2015's Fish in the Dark (above), where, at 86, he did eight shows a week as playwright Larry David's father.

9. Steven Van Zandt — Silvio Dante

E Street Band member Steven Van Zandt (above, center) hasn't been seen on Broadway as an actor, but he has been a producer. In 2013, he produced, wrote, and directed a special engagement of the classic rock band the Rascals at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.
