New York City
The classic television series will hit the stage.
Jonathan Rockefeller's That Golden Girls Show!: A Puppet Parody will have a New York City run this fall at the DR2 Theatre. It will run from September 19-December 11, with opening night set for October 3.
That Golden Girls Show! is the ultimate Golden Girls experience. Set in a sassy Miami house in 1985, it parodies classic episodes with new razor-sharp gags and put-downs, from Sophia's get-rich-quick schemes to Rose's tales from St. Olaf. Devoted fans will fondly remember the four women from Miami, and for the first-timers, it will be a joyful introduction to the brilliance of that television series.
Rockefeller is the Drama Desk Award-nominated creator of The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show. The Golden Girls starred Beatrice Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Getty. It ran from 1985-1992 on NBC and won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series twice during its run.
