A return engagement of That Hopey Changey Thing by Richard Nelson, along with two of the three other plays that are part of Nelson's The Apple Family Plays tetralogy, began performances at The Public on October 22. The fourth play, Regular Singing, will receive its world premiere November 22.

In That Hopey Changey Thing, a family gathers in upstate New York on election night in 2010 to await the returns while discussing the future of both their family and the country.

That Hopey Changey Thing and the rest of the Apple Family Plays feature Maryann Plunkett, Jay O. Sanders, Laila Robins, Jon DeVries, Stephen Kunken, and Sally Murphy.
