Kiss Me, Kate is coming back to Broadway in 2019, and a new look at the upcoming production's fiery choreography has been released. Check it out below.
Kiss Me, Kate, recipient of the first-ever Tony Award for Best Musical in 1949, features a book by Sam and Bella Spewack, music and lyrics by Cole Porter, additional material by Amanda Green, direction by Scott Ellis, choreography by Warren Carlyle, and music direction by Paul Gemignani.
The new Broadway cast will be led by Tony winner Kelli O'Hara as Kate and Lilli Vanessi, and Tony nominee Will Chase as Petruchio and Fred Graham, alongside Corbin Bleu as Lucentio and Bill Calhoun, Terence Archie as Harrison Howell, Mel Johnson Jr. as Harry Trevor and Baptista, Stephanie Styles as Lois Lane and Bianca, Adrienne Walker as Hattie, Lance Coadie Williams as Gangster (Second Man), John Pankow as Gangster (First Man), and James T. Lane as Paul.
The ensemble includes Phillip Attmore, Darius Barnes, Preston Truman Boyd, Will Burton, Derrick Cobey, Jesmille Darbouze, Rick Faugno, Haley Fish, Tanya Haglund, Erica Mansfield, Marissa McGowan, Sarah Meahl, Christine Cornish Smith, Sherisse Springer, Sam Strasfeld, and Ron Todorowski. The creative team is made up of David Rockwell (sets), Jeff Mahshie (costumes), Donald Holder (lighting), Brian Ronan (sound), David Brian Brown (hair and wig design), Larry Hochman (orchestrations), and David Chase (dance arrangements).
Previews will begin February 14 at Studio 54, with the Roundabout production scheduled to open March 14.
