Tom Hollander will star in Roundabout Theatre Company’s production.
Tom Stoppard's Tony winning drama Travesties will return to Broadway in a new production directed by Patrick Marber. A transfer of the recently acclaimed revival at London's Menier Chocolate Factory, the work will feature Tom Hollander and run March 29-June 17 at the American Airlines Theatre. Opening night is set for April 24.
Travesties tells the story of Henry Carr (Hollander), an elderly man who begins to recall his adventures in Zürich during World War I, during which time he interacted with James Joyce as he was writing Ulysses, Dadaist Tristan Tzara, and Lenin on the eve of the Russian Revolution.
The Menier Chocolate Factory revival broke box office records during its 2016 engagement, and later transferred to London's West End. Marber's revival received five Olivier Award nominations including Best Actor and Best Revival.
The full cast and creative team will be announced soon. Roundabout Theatre Company presents the drama in association with Chocolate Factory Productions and Sonia Friedman Productions.
