John Bateman directs the production at Roy Arias Stage 7.
Hubris Theatre Company is set to begin performances of A Clockwork Orange on Thursday, October 1, at Roy Arias Stage 7, with a run scheduled through October 31. John Bateman will direct.
Adapted by Anthony Burgess from his 1962 dystopian novel, A Clockwork Orange tells the story of Alex, a young, brilliant, and utterly vicious criminal terrorizing the streets with his gang of fellow miscreants, the Drooges. Speaking in a poetry of inventive slang, they roam the night, assailing their victims with "ultra-violence." However, when the state captures young Alex with the intent of reforming him, he is thrown helplessly back into society and finds himself at the mercy of those he's wronged.
Alex Tissiere takes on the lead role of Alex Delarge. The cast also features Jimmy Betts as Joe, Samuel Finn Cutler as Dim, Steven Bono Jr. as George, Luke Wehner as Pete, Donal Brophy as F. Alexander, Katey Parker as Brodsky, Jim DiMunno as Father, Daniel O'Rielly as Deltoid, JeVon Blackwell as Branom, Sarah Grace as Girl, Chris Krause as Billyboy, Aaron Wineman as Dolin, and Mark Ford as Da Silva.
The creative team includes Scott Tedmon-Jones (set design), Sarah Huyck (lighting design), Jon Can Coskunses (costume design), and Frank Alfano Jr. (fight choreography). Kate Szekely serves as stage manager.
