Alec Baldwin will return to Broadway in the spring of 2013 in Lyle Kessler’s drama Orphans. The production will be directed by Daniel Sullivan, and produced by Frederick Zollo and Robert Cole.
Baldwin will play Harold, a Chicago gangster kidnapped by a pair of orphan brothers living in a dilapidated home in North Philadelphia. Additional casting and information is still to come.
Orphans was seen Off-Broadway in Steppenwolf Theater Company’s 1985 production, directed by Gary Sinise and starring John Mahoney, Terry Kinney, and Kevin Anderson.
Baldwin has been seen on stage in Equus, Entertaining Mr. Sloane, Twentieth Century, and A Streetcar Named Desire. He has won two Emmy Awards for his performance as Jack Donaghy on the NBC series 30 Rock.
