The show took place in Shubert Alley.
The Broadway League and the Coalition of Broadway Unions and Guilds (COBUG) celebrated the eighth annual Broadway Salutes on Tuesday, September 20, in Shubert Alley.
The industry-wide public celebration recognizes theater professionals who have worked for 25, 35, and 50 years on Broadway. The event honors actors, agents, attorneys, box office treasurers, casting directors, choreographers, composers, designers, directors, dressers, managers, musicians, orchestrators, producers, publicists, stagehands, stage managers, stylists, theater owners, ticket sellers, ushers, writers, and many more theater professionals who have dedicated their careers to the success of Broadway.
Directed by Marc Bruni, the ceremony was hosted by School of Rock's Tony-nominated star Alex Brightman. Broadway Salutes also included special guest performances by Leslie Kritzer (Something Rotten!), Daisy Eagan (The Secret Garden), and Rashidra Scott (Beautiful — The Carole King Musical), with music direction by Joel Waggoner.
The Broadway Salutes committee includes Tony DePaulo (IATSE), Nina Lannan (general manager), Laura Penn (SDC), Hal Goldberg (Jujamcyn), Paige Price (AEA), Danielle Saks (general manager), and Chris Brockmeyer (Broadway League). Connie Wilkin and Jennifer O’Connor, of Foresight Events, make up the production team.
