Alfred Molina and Jane Kaczmarek Set to Begin Long Day's Journey Into Night

Performances begin tonight for Long Day's Journey Into Night at the Geffen Playhouse.

Eugene O’Neill’s semiautobiographical drama pulls back the curtain on the Connecticut home of the Tyrone family, where deep-seated resentments and bourbon-fueled tirades cause a family to expose their darkest natures. O’Neill paints the powerful and heartrending portrait of a single day that begins as any other, only to become a night from which they will never recover. Jeanie Hackett directs.

Alfred Molina (The Normal Heart) stars as James Tyrone opposite Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle) as Mary Cavan Tyrone. They are joined by Angela Goethals (Picnic) as Cathleen, Stephen Louis Grush (Sex With Strangers) as James Tyrone Jr., and Colin Woodell (A Christmas Carol) as Edmund Tyrone.

The production team includes Tom Buderwitz (scenic design), Denitsa Bliznakova (costume design), Elizabeth Harper (lighting design), Michael Roth (original music and soundscape), Jason H. Thompson (projection design), Peter Katona (fight direction). The team also includes movement coach Jean-Louis Rodrigue, dramaturg William Davies King, production stage manager Young Ji, and assistant stage manager Cate Cundiff.
