Playwright Jaclyn Backhaus' play follows 10 explorers in 1869 as they set out on four boats to map the raging rapids of the Green and Colorado Rivers on the government’s first sanctioned expedition in the American West. American Theatre Company artistic director Will Davis directs.
The cast features Kelli Simpkins (John Wesley Powell), Kelly O'Sullivan (William Dunn), Arti Ishak (John Colton Sumner), Lauren Sivak (Old Shady), BrittneyLove Smith (Bradley), Avi Roque (O.G. Howland), Saraí Rodriguez (Seneca Howland), Frank Goodman (Erin Barlow), Lawren Carter (Hall), and Stephanie Shum (Hawkins).
Comprising the artistic staff is William Boles (scenic design), Jamie Karas (properties design), Melissa Ng (costume design), Miles Polaski (sound design and composer), Alex Rhyan (technical direction), Brandon Wardell (lighting design), Alicia Hynes (production manager), and Katie Klemme (production stage manager).
Performances run through February 12.
