Berkeley Repertory Theatre is to present Mary Zimmerman’s The White Snake, November 14-December 23 in the Roda Theatre.
The White Snake, a co-production with Oregon Shakespeare Festival, is a classic romance from Chinese legend adapted and directed by Zimmerman. In it, a snake spirit discovers what it means to be human.
The cast will feature Keiko Shimosoto Carreiro (ensemble), Gina Daniels (ensemble), Richard Howard (ensemble), Cristofer Jean (Brother-in-Law / ensemble), Emily Sophia Knapp (ensemble), Vin Kridakorn (ensemble), Christopher Livingston (Xu Xian / ensemble), Tanya Thai McBride (Green Snake), Lisa Tejero (Sister-in-Law / ensemble), Amy Kim Waschke (White Snake), and Jack Willis (Fa Hai / ensemble) as well as musicians Tessa Brinckman, Ronnie Malley, and Michal Palzewicz.
The design team will include Daniel Ostling (set design), Mara Blumenfeld (costume design), T.J. Gerckens (lighting design), Andre Pluess (sound design), and Shawn Sagady (projection design).
