The musical turned one on April 12.
The Broadway production of An American in Paris celebrated its first anniversary on Broadway at the Palace Theatre on April 12.
Winner of four 2015 Tony Awards, An American in Paris is directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon. Inspired by the Academy Award-winning film, the musical features music and lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin and a book by Craig Lucas. The story follows a young American soldier and a beautiful French girl in a "timeless story of love in a city rebuilding from the heartbreak of World War II."
The company is currently led by Garen Scribner alongside original leading players Leanne Cope, Brandon Uranowitz, Max von Essen, Jill Paice, and Veanne Cox. Robert Fairchild, who made his Broadway debut as the show's original leading man, rejoined the company for the celebration.
