Karl takes on the role played by Bill Murray in the fan-favorite film.
Photos from the West End world-premiere production of the new musical Groundhog Day, starring Broadway favorite Andy Karl, have been released.
Groundhog Day is inspired by the 1993 film that tells the story of Pittsburgh weatherman Phil Connors, who finds himself caught in a time loop that forces him to repeat the same day, Groundhog Day, over and over. It features a score by Matilda composer Tim Minchin, and is directed by Matlida's Matthew Warchus, with original screen writer Danny Rubin providing the book. It runs at London's Old Vic Theatre.
