Theater veteran Andy Mientus has been cast as Kyle, a writer with dreams of working on Broadway, on the new season of the hit NBC drama, Smash, according to TVLine.com
The show, which focuses on the making of a Broadway musical about Marilyn Monroe, stars Debra Messing, Jack Davenport, Megan Hilty, Katharine McPhee, Anjelica Huston, Jeremy Jordan, and 2012 Tony Award winner Christian Borle.
As reported earlier this week, Jennifer Hudson will guest star as actress Veronica Moore; in addition, Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters will also make a return guest appearance during season 2.
Mientus’ stage credits include Carrie, Rent, Shine!, and Spring Awakening.
