Lampanelli’s play will be directed by Jackson Gay.
Broadway vet Ann Harada (Cinderella) will join Lisa Lampanelli in the world premiere of Lampanelli's play Stuffed, a production of WP Theater (formerly Women's Project Theater). Directed by Jackson Gay, previews will begin on September 23 with opening night set for October 7 at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre. The limited engagement will play through November 6.
With additional material by Ashley Austin Morris, Stuffed "brings together four women’s disparate stories to paint a portrait of the insanity of a world that forces women to address hard-hitting issues like: Is eating an ice cream sandwich in the shower an emotionally fulfilling activity? When it comes to blue jeans, should one opt for a camel toe or a muffin top? And the ultimate question: can food and body-image issues ever truly be conquered?" Additional casting will be announced.
Following Stuffed, WP Theater will present Sundown, Yellow Moon, a play with songs by Rachel Bonds and the Brooklyn indie-rock duo the Bengsons. Anne Kauffman will direct the work, which will begin performances at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre in March 2017. Additional information will be announced.
