The new musical R.R.R.E.D. — A Secret Musical has announced its initial lineup of special guest stars who will fill the cameo role in the production at each performance. Two-time Tony Award nominee Christopher Sieber (The Prom) will kick things off at the July 28 and July 29 performances.
Additional guest stars, including Tony nominee Ariana DeBose (Summer: The Donna Summer Musical), Kate Rockwell (Mean Girls), Tovah Feldshuh (Gypsy), Kara Lindsay (Wicked), Tony nominee Lauren Worsham (A Gentlemen's Guide to Love & Murder), Frankie Grande (Rock of Ages), and more will perform at select performances throughout August.
R.R.R.E.D. is a new musical with music and lyrics by Katie Thompson and a book by Adam Jackman, Katie Thompson, and Patrick Livingston. The musical will star Thompson as Victoria and Matt Loehr as GJ, with Marissa Rosen as Stephanie Hicks and Kevin Zak as Craig.
The plot of R.R.R.E.D is described as follows: "By the year 2100, the recessive gene that causes red-hair may cease to exist. Now, in the year 2018, a secret redheaded revolutionary organization is taking matters into their own hands, fighting back against their imminent extinction and standing up for the rights of redheads everywhere."
Directed by Andy Sandberg and choreographed by Shea Sullivan, the musical begins performances July 28 and officially opens on August 19. The creative team is made up of Charlie Corcoran (scenic design), Jake DeGroot (lighting design), Michael McDonald (costume design), David Sanderson (sound design), Dan Scully (production design), Rodney Bushand (music direction), and John D'Orazio (hair and wigs).
