Caryl Churchill’s drama returns to New York for the first time since 1981.
Atlantic Theater Company's revival of Caryl Churchill's landmark drama Cloud Nine celebrated its opening night on October 5. Directed by James Macdonald, the production at the Linda Gross Theater is scheduled to run through November 1.
Set in colonial Africa and 1979 London, Cloud Nine is about power, politics, family, Queen Victoria, and sex. This is the first major production of the work since 1981. Featured in the company (in alphabetical order) are Brooke Bloom (You Got Older), Sean Dugan (Next Fall), Lucy Owen (The Village Bike), Chris Perfetti (The Tempest), John Sanders (Peter and the Starcatcher), Izzie Steele (What I Did Last Summer), and Clarke Thorell (Annie).
