Stage and screen veteran Aunjanue Ellis will star with Keke Palmer and Sherri Shepherd in Lifetime’s Abducted: The Carlina White Story, according to Deadline.com. Vondie Curtis-Hall will direct the film.

The film, which is written by Elizabeth Hunter, is based on the true-life story of White (to be played by Palmer), who after being abducted as an infant from a New York hospital by a desperate woman (Ellis) solved her own kidnapping 23 years later.

Ellis starred on Broadway in Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, Drowning Crow, and The Tempest, and the Shakespeare in the Park production of The Winter’s Tale. Her film and television credits include The Help, Ray, Missing, and The Mentalist.
