Barrington Stage Company will honor Tony-winning composer William Finn at its annual New York City benefit on October 13. Tony Award winner Tommy Tune will serve as honorary chair of the event, with Eda Sorokoff serving as benefit committee chair.

The evening will begin at 5:30pm with a cocktail reception and an informal Q&A with William Finn at ViceVersa Restaurant, followed by an 8pm performance of Finn's Tony Award-winning musical Falsettos, which begins its revival run on September 29 at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

In addition to his work for the stage, Finn is also cofounder and artistic producer of the BSC Musical Theatre Lab, established in 2006 to provide artistic guidance and a supportive environment for promising musical writing teams. In its first 10 years, the Musical Theatre Lab has produced 18 new musicals. Of these musicals, seven have moved on to New York or major theaters around the country. In 2016 the MTL produced two world premieres: Presto Change-O and Broadway Bounty Hunter.

On Broadway, Finn is best known for his Tony-winning score for Falsettos as well as his Tony-nominated score for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He also penned the music, lyrics, and book for his semiautobiographical musical A New Brain.

"We are thrilled to be honoring William Finn at BSC In NYC," said BSC artistic director Julianne Boyd. "Through the Musical Theatre Lab, Bill has helped countless composers and lyricists develop and refine their work to ready it for the stage."
