The play is set on the day of Richard Nixon’s funeral as five presidents gather to send him off.
Bay Street Theater has extended its run of Rick Cleveland's Five Presidents through July 26. Mark Clements directs the production.
Five Presidents is a funny and incisive new drama is about the meeting of America’s most exclusive club – the ex-presidents. Obliged to gather together on the day of Richard Nixon’s funeral, four "exes" and one "current" vent frustrations, revisit old grievances, and reveal the toll that it takes on any person foolish enough to seek the highest office in the land.
The cast is made up of Mark Jacoby (George Herbert Walker Bush), Brit Whittle (Bill Clinton), Steve Sheridan (Ronald Reagan), Martin L’Herault (Jimmy Carter), John Bolger (Gerald Ford), and Reese Madigan (Special Agent Michael Kirby).
Cleveland is an Emmy-winning writer and producer whose television credits include The West Wing, Six Feet Under, Mad Men, Nurse Jackie, and House of Cards.
