The world-premiere musical is based on the popular science-fiction novel by Ned Vizzini.
Be More Chill, a new musical adaptation of Ned Vizzini's 2004 novel with a score by Joe Iconis and a book by Joe Tracz, has extended its world-premiere run at New Jersey's Two River Theater. The show has added five performances, the last of which will play on June 28.
Directed by Stephen Brackett, the story begins with an average teenager, Jeremy Heere (Will Connolly), whose life is irrevocably changed when he is introduced to "The Squip" (Eric William Morris), a tiny supercomputer. With the Squip, all of his dreams are possible, but with all these possibilities comes the question: Is being the most popular guy in school worth the risk?
The cast features Will Connolly as Jeremy, Eric William Morris as "The Squip," Stephanie Hsu as Christine, Jake Boyd as Jake, Gerard Canonico as Rich, Katlyn Carlson as Chloe, Katie Ladner as Jenna Rolan, Lauren Marcus as Brooke, George Salazar as Michael, and Paul Whitty as Jeremy's Dad.
