Further casting has been announced for the Dramatists Guild Foundation's upcoming 70th birthday celebration of Wicked songwriter Stephen Schwartz. The bash will take place on April 23 at the Hudson Theatre.
Directed by Scott Schwartz with music direction by DGF president Andrew Lippa, the concert will include special performances by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, Patina Miller, Darren Criss, Lindsay Mendez, Alex Newell, Michael McCorry Rose, Corey Cott, Casey Cott, and Matt Gould.
Newly announced are Dear Evan Hansen Tony winners Ben Platt and Rachel Bay Jones, Tony winner Laura Benanti, Oscar-winning Frozen songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken, and Carousel star Renée Fleming.
Proceeds from Stephen Schwartz’s 70th Birthday Concert go to supporting the Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF), a national charity that fuels the future of American theater by supporting the writers who create it. In addition to Wicked, Schwartz's scores include Pippin, Godspell, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and more.
