The Tony winner will offer the Public Theater some ”Dark Blue-Eyed Blues”.
Tony Award winner Betty Buckley (Cats, The Mystery of Edwin Drood) returns to Joe's Pub this May for seven performances of her new show Dark Blue-Eyed Blues, designed specifically for the Public Theater venue.
Running from May 28-31, the show will feature a collection of standards and songs by contemporary writers "for some glamour, torch and comedy." She will be joined by Christian Jacob on piano, Tony Marino on bass, Todd Isler on drums, and Oz Noy on guitar. Terry Gabis will lend sound design.
Buckley will also offer her Song Interpretation & Monologue Master Class at T. Schreiber Studio from May 18-May 22. Buckley will assist aspiring artists, educators, and experienced performers in the craft of singing, acting, and storytelling. The May Master Class consists of five sessions: Monday, May 18-Friday, May 22, each day from 6:30-10:30pm.
