The Broadway veteran will launch a 25-city US tour this spring to mark his next album release.
Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award winner Billy Porter has announced the Black Mona Lisa Tour: Volume 1, kicking off on April 29 at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre and stopping in a total of 25 U.S. cities. Tickets will go on sale March 10.
The 90-minute show, featuring a full band and video installation, will traverse Porter’s career in music, television, and Broadway. The tour will also include performances of songs from his upcoming pop album, Black Mona Lisa. His new single from the album, “Baby Was A Dancer,” will be released on March 24 via Republic Records.
Porter is a Broadway veteran, best know for originating the role of Lola in the Tony-winning musical Kinky Boots (Tony Award). He is also well known for starring in all three seasons of the television series Pose, for which he earned three Golden Globe Award nominations and an Emmy Award for Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
