The Tony-winning ”Kinky Boots” star’s new play was originally set to begin performances September 23.
The Primary Stages production of While I Yet Live, a new play by Tony winner Billy Porter (Kinky Boots), has delayed performances at The Duke on 42nd Street. The production was originally set to begin performances on September 23 and open on October 12. Performances will now begin on September 24.
The play, which focuses on a young man's coming of age in Pittsburgh, features Elain Graham (The Picture Box), Sheria Irving (Ethel Sings), Emmy Award winner S. Epatha Merkerson (Come Back, Little Sheba), Kevyn Morrow (The Scarlet Pimpernel), Sharon Washington (The Scottsboro Boys), Tony winner Lillias White (The Life), and Larry Powell (Broke-ology).
While I Yet Live features scenic design by James Noone, costume design by ESosa, lighting design by Kevin Adams, and sound design by Leon Rothenberg.
