Black, Caruso, Douglas, Ebersole, Essman, McGovern, et al. Win 2008 MAC Awards

The 2008 MAC Awards were presented on Tuesday, May 6 at BB King Blues Club.

The evening was hosted by Klea Blackhurst, and featured such presenters and performers as Danny Aiello, Karen Akers, Andrea McArdle, Tom Wopat, Faith Prince, John McDaniel, Sue Simmons, Ron Corning, Joyce Randolph, Eric Michael Gillett, Steven Lutvak, Baby Jane Dexter, Leon Hall, Lina Koutrakos, Bobby Peaco, Lisa Asher, Nancy Witter, Tommy Femia, Lorinda Lisitza, Peter Leavy, Eric Comstock, Barbara Fasano, Peter Rampanero, Adam Feldman, Judy Gold, Eric Pickering, Sidney Myer, Maryann Lopinto, Jay Rogers, Denise Richardson, and Kristine Zbornik.

At the ceremony, MAC bestowed its Lifetime Achievement Award to singer Maureen McGovern; a special award for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy to Lewis Black; a special award for Outstanding Achievement in Jazz to Gloria Lynne, and Board of Directors Awards were given to Linda Amiel Burns, founder of The Singing Experience, and Bart Greenberg, creator of Barnes & Noble’s popular Any Wednesday series. The Time Out Special Award was given to Bridget Everett and Kenny Mellman, and Maureen Kelley-Stewart received the annual Hanson Award.
