The production is scheduled to begin performances this January.
Tony nominee Maria Dizzia (Belleville), who was previously cast in the role of Beth in the upcoming Roundabout Theatre Company production of Dinner With Friends, has departed the play prior to the start of rehearsals for unspecified personal reasons.
Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that Heather Burns will join the cast in her place. Burns most recently appeared on the HBO series Bored to Death in a recurring role opposite Zach Galifinakis. She is most widely known for her roles in a number of popular Sandra Bullock films including Miss Congeniality, Two Weeks Notice, and Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous.
Dinner With Friends, the 2000 Pulitzer Prize winner for drama, is written by Donald Margulies and will be directed by Tony Award winner Pam MacKinnon (Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?). Burns will join a cast featuring the previously announced Jeremy Shamos, Marin Hinkle, and Darren Pettie. Performances of Dinner With Friends will begin January 17, 2014 at the Laura Pels Theatre in advance of a February 13 opening.
