The Shubert Organization has announced that it will dim the lights of the Broadhurst Theatre on March 11 at 6:45pm in honor of the late actor Linda Lavin, who died on December 29 at the age of 87.
Lavin starred in the Broadway debut of Neil Simon’s Broadway Bound at the Broadhurst, earning her the 1987 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play. She was nominated five other times for her performances in Last of the Red Hot Lovers, The Diary of Anne Frank, The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife, Collected Stories, and The Lyons.
No other Broadway houses have announced plans to dim their lights in honor of Lavin on the 11th.
