Stars of Broadway’s ”In the Heights”, ”Motown”, and more will add some musical theater to West Coast night life.
Broadway at the W, a musical theater revue created by Broadway veterans, comes to Los Angeles' Loft at W Hollywood (formerly Drai’s Hollywood) on June 12.
"I moved to Los Angeles years ago after starting my career on the Broadway stage," said the show's producer Victor Hawks. "So many of my Broadway colleagues have moved to L.A., but they miss singing. I miss singing. This show was created as both an artistic outlet, and also our way of reaching all the musical theater lovers in L.A. who want to see the best of the best."
The show features a live band, rotating program, and special celebrity guests. The cast of stage veterans includes Daniel J. Watts (In the Heights), Noah Weisberg (South Pacific), Alex Ellis (Catch Me If You Can), Adrianna Rose Lyons (Rock of Ages), Kelsey Griswold (American Crime Story), Amir Talai (We Will Rock You), Matthew Kacergis (Spring Awakening), Brandon Rogers (American Idol), Rudy Cardenas (American Idol), along with Hawks and his fellow producer Mekia Cox. Special Broadway guests set to perform on June 12 also include Mary Faber (American Idiot), and Krystal Joy Brown (Motown).
The program will feature tunes from popular Broadway musicals including West Side Story, Wicked, Jersey Boys, In the Heights, We Will Rock You, Newsies, The Wild Party, and more. Producers plan to make the revue a weekly tradition at W Hollywood.
