Broadway Barks 2017 to Be Hosted by Bernadette Peters and Malcolm McDowell

Mozart in the Jungle costars Bernadette Peters and Malcolm McDowell will host the 2017 edition of Broadway Barks on July 8 in Shubert Alley. The 19th edition of the event, founded by Peters and the late Mary Tyler Moore, will be produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Broadway stars lending their support include Christy Altomare, John Bolton, Mary Beth Peil, Derek Klena, and Caroline O’Connor (Anastasia); P.J. Benjamin (Wicked); James Barbour (The Phantom of the Opera); Reed Birney (1984); Steven Booth, Jenn Gambatese, and Eric Petersen (School of Rock); Petrina Bromley, Jenn Colella, Susan Dunstan, Kendra Kassebaum, and Caesar Samayoa (Come From Away); Sophia Anne Caruso (Lazarus); Corey Cott, Beth Leavel, and Laura Osnes (Bandstand); Gavin Creel, David Hyde Pierce, and Taylor Trensch (Hello, Dolly!); Alma Cuervo (On Your Feet!); and Ariana DeBose and Bobby Conte Thornton (A Bronx Tale — The Musical).

Broadway Barks help hundreds of New York City’s shelter animals find permanent homes by informing New Yorkers about the plight of the thousands of homeless dogs and cats in the metropolitan area. The event features celebrities of the Great White Way who use their star power to find loving homes for animals in need from 28 participating NYC area animal shelters.
