The annual event will return to the stage for its 11th edition.
The 11th annual edition of the popular Broadway Backwards series will take the stage Monday, March 21 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, home to the Tony-winning musical Kinky Boots.
Broadway Backwards is an annual celebration where gays and lesbians see their stories told through the songs of musical theater. The event is produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
A full line-up of for the show will be announced in the coming weeks. Creator Robert Bartley will direct, with Mary-Mitchell Campbell serving as music supervisor and Tim Rosser as music director. Choreography will be created for the show by Bartley, Al Blackstone, and Adam Roberts.
The 10th anniversary edition of Broadway Backwards raised a record $466,717 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center.
