The producers of the new Broadway musical Anastasia have announced plans for international productions across Europe, Asia, the United Kingdom, Australia, and South America. The list of international markets with plans underway for Anastasia include Germany, Holland, Spain, Russia, Korea, Japan, Mexico, China, and more to be announced. Plans for a North American tour are also in the works. A confirmed production timeline will be announced soon.

Anastasia features a book by Terrence McNally and an original score by Tony Award winners Stephen Flaherty (music) and Lynn Ahrens (lyrics). Tony winner Darko Tresnjak directs. Ahrens and Flaherty penned the tunes for the 1997 animated film on which the stage musical is based. They have expanded their score, which contains the songs "Once Upon a December" and "Journey to the Past," for the theatrical production.

The Broadway company is led by Christy Altomare, Derek Klena, John Bolton, Ramin Karimloo, Caroline O’Connor, and Mary Beth Peil. They are joined in the cast by Zach Adkins, Sissy Bell, Lauren Blackman, Kathryn Boswell, Kyle Brown, Kristen Smith Davis, Janet Dickinson, Constantine Germanacos, Wes Hart, Ian Knauer, Ken Krugman, Dustin Layton, Shina Ann Morris, James A. Pierce III, Molly Rushing, Nicole Scimeca, Johnny Stellard, McKayla Twiggs, Allison Walsh, and Beverly Ward. The production opened April 24 at the Broadhurst Theatre.
