The community will pay tribute to Popper, who died at the age of 47 this past spring.
On Tuesday, September 30, from 4pm-5pm at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, the Broadway community will come together to celebrate the life of Seth Popper.
Popper, who died at the age of 47 on May 26 from a heart attack, served as director of labor relations for the Broadway League from 1998-2008, and then from 2012 until his death. During his tenure, Popper administered 17 labor contracts with local and national unions, representing the industry’s directors, choreographers, actors, musicians, and stagecraft, as well as front-of-house personnel.
"Our dear friend and respected colleague Seth Popper was a special person who we will always remember," said Charlotte St. Martin, executive director of the Broadway League. "Our industry wishes to commemorate Seth’s exceptional passion for life and love of Broadway with musical tributes and the sharing of memories."
In his memory, the Broadway League has established the Popper Education Trust Fund on behalf of Seth and his wife Stacey Zorowitz Popper’s children, Jake, 9, and Avery, 7.
