Broadway's Disgraced Joins Long Wharf Theatre 2015-16 Season

New Haven, Connecticut's Long Wharf Theatre has announced four titles joining its 2015-16 season.

Ayad Akhtar's 2013 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Disgraced, which recently ended its Broadway run at the Lyceum Theatre, will take the Long Wharf stage from October 14-November 8. Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein will direct.

Benjamin Scheuer's one-man musical show, The Lion, which also recently ended an off-Broadway at the Lynn Redgrave Theater, will run on Long Wharf's Stage II from January 6-February 7, 2016. The production (written and performed by Scheuer) will be directed by Sean Daniels.

Emily Mann's Having Our Say will then run on the Mainstage from February 17-March 18, 2016. Adapted from the book by Sarah L. Delany and A. Elizabeth Delany with Amy Hill Hearth, the show follows 103-year-old Sadie Delany and 101-year-old Bessie Delany as they discuss how they fought the racial injustices of the 20th century with their charm, warmth, and dignity intact. The play will be a coproduction with Hartford Stage.

The final production slated for the Long Wharf season is the world premiere of Samuel D. Hunter's Lewiston, directed by Eric Ting, on the theater's Stage II. Set to run from April 6-May 1, 2016, the play is described as an exploration of "the emotional frontiers of a family struggling to make a home in the vastness of the American landscape."
